What is Bubble Tea:
Bubble tea is a unique beverage that originated in Taiwan approximately 15 years ago. In a short time it became the hottest selling drink in Southeast Asia. Although every one of the hundreds of shops that sell it has its own “recipe”, Bubble tea usually has the same basic formula: a base of green or black tea, fruit or other flavoring and a texture component, known as pearls. Pearls are made from tapioca, a simple starch that is natural and, when cooked, chewy, like a “gummy bear”. The drink is served with an oversized straw so the pearls rise when you drink, and you can chew and drink at the same time. Although it is a strange sensation when first tried, it quickly becomes irresistible.
